We never set out to fall in love. It started in New York City, somewhere between shared projects at Gensler, conversations, and the unexpected discovery that we made a great team. Matt’s quiet confidence and dry wit met Cynthia’s emotional depth and nurturing wild-child spirit, and somehow, in the beautiful chaos of New York, it just worked. In 2015, we traded New York bagels for Los Angeles sunshine and began building a life together on the other side of the country.

Twelve years later, our love is found in the grand adventures and the smallest rituals: breakfast in bed, airport pickups, Walt Disney Concert Hall dates, long walks with Duke and Billie, and dancing in public whenever Matt hears a song he loves (Cynthia doesn’t always get a say). Along the way, our beloved Duke and Billie made our little family feel even more like home. Loving Duke through his final chapter reminded us how precious it is to share a life with someone who shows up, again and again, through every season.

On August 19, 2024, we made it official at the Santa Barbara Courthouse surrounded by immediate family members. Now, two years into marriage, we’re bringing our favorite people together in Lima to finally celebrate where we’ve been, everything we’ve built, and all the adventures still to come. We’re so happy to have you as part of our story, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you.
